MPHS softball team makes up a conference double header with Ft. Madison tonight at Maple Leaf Field. Area softball scores: Ft. Madison split with Centerville winning 2-1 and losing 9-8, W. Burlington-Notre Dame 13 Van Buren 1, Central Lee 10 New London 3, Central Lee 8 Harmony 2, Danville 6 Cardinal 1, Cardinal 12 Holy Trinity Catholic 0, L-M 17 Waco 5, Wapello 17 WMU 7, Highland 2 Mediapolis 1.

MPHS baseball team goes to North Scott at 5pm. Area baseball scores: Notre Dame 7 Danville 2, Central Lee 12 Harmony 2, Cardinal twice over Holy Trinity Catholic 16-0 and 21-3, L-M twice over Lone Tree 6-4 and 5-0.

Holy Trinity Catholic has landed three players on the first team all state soccer squad. Sean Conrad, T.J. Holtkamp and Ben Rector.

A Southeast Iowa Track and Field Camp for area students in 4th – 10th grades will be held July 5th – 9th at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex. Current and former athletes and coaches from MPCHS will give participants instructional techniques in sprint events, hurdles, distance events, field events, and relays. Cost of the camp is $30. Kansas City continued their series with the White Sox last night losing 4-3. Series wraps up tonight when K.C. plays the Chicago White Sox again tonight at the “K” and on KILJ-AM 1130 at 6:35pm
