#12 Ft. Madison scored a twin win over the MPHS (7-18) softball team at Maple Leaf Field last night winning 10-0 and 6-0. Mt. Pleasant had just two hits in the first game and three in the second. They committed three errors in the first game and five in the night cap. Sammi Goble pitched the first game and Emily Prellwitz and Mandy White the second. Panthers will try to get their first conference win of the season tonight when they play at Washington.
Other area softball scores: #4 Keokuk beat Holy Trinity Catholic twice 14-0 and 11-1, Central Lee swept Davis County 10-1 and 8-5, Mediapolis 15 L-M 4.
North Scott handed the MPHS baseball team a double header loss last night 12-2 and 13-5. Blake Vandenberg pitched the first game for M.P. Ross Heitmeier, Mason Donolly, Korbin Taylor and Cody Vaughn led the hitting. In the second game Donnie Johnson pitched, Henry Krieger-Coble had a solo homer, Scott Eagleman and Tanner Stutzman also hit well. MPHS travels to Washington tonight with a chance to take over the lead in the conference race with a sweep.
Other area baseball scores: Burlington Notre Dame 13 Highland 0, Washington swept Danville 10-9 and 17-2, Cardinal over Central Lee 7-5, Burlington swept Davenport North 9-0 and 5-4.
Kansas City wrapped up their series with the White Sox last night winning 7-6. Kansas City has today off and then heads to the west coast to begin a series with the Angeles.
