IWC director of choral activities, Dr. Jaime Spillane, is leaving the college after 7 years to return to the east.

Dr. Spillane has accepted a position at Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester, New York. The Methodist based school has about 1800 students including graduate students. Spillane said he knew he would be at IWC for at least five years. But he and his wife had planned at some point to move back east where his father lives as well as other family. His new position is a move in the right direction for where he wants to end up. Spillane said working with the IWC music faculty and administration and the support he received is a highlight of his time here. Spillane believed MT. Pleasant was lucky to have IWC and that IWC was lucky to have Mt. Pleasant. He took advantage of every opportunity to promote that. For example, he combined the Mt. Pleasant Chorale and IWC choir presenting many concerts for the community during his time here. That was another highlight for Spillane.
