Two finalists announced for Great Prairie AEA chief position

The Great Prairie Area Education Agency Board of Directors has announced their two finalists for the position of chief administrator with the agency. Klint Willert and Jon Sheldahl were chosen from a field of sixteen applicants to be interviewed this week by focus groups of Great Prairie AEA staff, local school administrators and by the Great Prairie AEA Board.

Jon Sheldahl is currently Superintendent at Ottumwa Community School District in Ottumwa, Iowa. He has previously held positions as Associate Superintendent in Ottumwa, Superintendent at Stuart-Menlo and West Central Valley Community School Districts, and Principal of Oak Street Middle School in Burlington.

Klint Willert is currently Superintendent at Marshall Public Schools in Marshall, Minnesota. He has previously held positions as Superintendent of West Hancock Community Schools in Britt and Kanawha, Iowa; Superintendent and Elementary Principal in the Deubrook Area Schools in White and Toronto, South Dakota; and Elementary Principal and Counselor in Hot Springs Public Schools in Hot Springs, Montana.

Following interviews on Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 22, the Board will make a final selection. The name of the successful candidate will be announced following the Board meeting via area news media, the Great Prairie AEA Staff Update, and through the Agency’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
