Just after 10 am Friday emergency crews responded to a report of a downed plane in a corn field west of Salem. KILJ News has learned the plane was piloted by a 75 year old man who was flying from Florida to Wisconsin. The plane’s engine stalled at about 1500 feet. The plane crashed into the field owned by Alan Miller between Agency and 310th Street. It landed on it’s belly. When emergency crews arrived on the scene the pilot was out of the plane laying on the wing. He complained of lower back pain. He also had abrasions on his arm. He was transported by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center.
