Fairfield, Iowa – Over 50 years ago, Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin started singing in their hometown of Abilene, Texas and went on to make music history. The Gatlin’s career has taken them from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from Broadway to Grammy Awards and now brings them to perform at Fairfield’s Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts, Sunday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Throughout Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers time atop the country charts, there has been one unifying element, music. There’s no harmony quite as pure as family harmony.
“Gatlin harmonies spin with high and light precision and their music bleeds and screams of love and a lot of living,” said Country Capsule in New York.
Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers have a total of 33 Top 40 hits, multiple Top Ten and Top Five hits and four number one hits including “All the Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You)”, “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Loved,” “and Broken Lady”
Larry Gatlin was named Top Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music in 1979. The Gatlin Brothers recently received the Cliffe Stone Pioneer Award presented by the Academy of Country Music.
“With the history of hits, you won’t want to miss this chance to see one of country music’s biggest stars at the Sondheim, said Rustin Lippincott, Executive Director, Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. “This country trio that has spanned generations of fans will delight with their powerful three-part harmonies and Larry’s evocative falsetto voice”
