#3 Holy Trinity Catholic got stiff competition from Winfield Mt. Union in the class 1A quarterfinal volleyball match at HTC last night but were still able to win by a sweep 25-20, 25-10, 25-9. The win moves the Crusaders into the semi finals Friday night on their court against New London who swept Waco in Charles Lorber Gym 25-13, 25-9, 25-12.
WMU goes to the sideline with a record of 17-16 and Waco ends up the year 8-22. Holy Trinity is 44-2 and New London has a 28-12 record. KILJ-FM and will carry Friday nights semi final live at 7 p.m.
In the other half of the region HLV downed Sigourney and BGM won over GMG in sweeps. HLV and BGM will have the battle of initials Friday night at Brooklyn.

#6 Mediapolis took care of business on their home court in class 2A volleyball play with a 3-0 sweep of Danville, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18. Mepo will advance onto the regional semi finals at Cardinal of Eldon to play Davis County who defeated Eddyville Bkalesburg 3-1.
KILJ-FM and will have score updates on the Bullettes.
The other half of the region saw Wapello defeated W. Burlington 3 games to 1 and West Liberty downed Durant in a sweep. Wapello will play at W. Liberty Friday night in the other semi final.

William Penn University dominated the final two sets to defeat Iowa Wesleyan College in four sets Tuesday night in Midwest Collegiate Conference volleyball play.
The Lady Statesmen conquered the Tigers 25-20, 25-27, 25-14, 25-14, moving ahead of IWC in the MCC standings. Penn improved to 18-19 overall and 3-5 in the MCC, while Wesleyan dropped to 6-19 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
The Tigers will compete in the McKendree (Ill.) University Invitational in Lebanon, Ill., on Friday and Saturday. IWC will open against St. Xavier (Ill.) University Friday at 2 p.m.

Tonight is the opening round of the high school football playoffs. Waco 7-2 @ Lynnville Sully 7-2 (KILJ-FM and will broadcast live), Danville @ BGM, L&M @ Mediapolis, Fairfield @ ADM Adel, Keokuk @ Norwalk.

Texas Rangers lead the World Series 3 games to two, game six begins tonight at 7:05 p.m. in Busch Stadium.

North bound Traffic:
Take I-380 to Wilson Avenue, exit 18.
Turn onto Wilson Avenue heading west.
At Rockford Road, turn right, heading north/northeast.
The arena is one mile ahead on the left.
