The Iowa Department of Transportation announces the completion of the Hwy 61 Fort Madison bypass.  Crews are opening the bypass for motorists.  The nine and a half mile bypass in Lee County was built to help control congestion and lessen the amount of fatalities on the road.  The project had a few delays due to weather.  The original estimate of the project were $40 million but the final numbers came in closer to $25 million.
