Unemployment Percentage Drops

Some good news for Southeast Iowa around the holidays, the unemployment rate has dropped.  That’s according to the October figures that were recently released.  Rates dropped for Jefferson County, Wapello and Henry County.  Henry County is now at 7.1%.  The county seeing the biggest drop in the area was Wapello.  Their unemployment rate fell from 8.6 to 7.1%.  The statewide unemployment percentage for the month of October remained at 6%.
