Coming up tonight on KILJ-FM the Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball team will open up Big Ten Conference play hosting Purdue. Our live broadcast will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Also tonight Drake will host Indiana State, a team coached by former Mt. Pleasant resident Greg Lansing, his father Dave was varsity boys basketball coach at MPHS back in the 70’s.
Big Ten basketball last night saw Illinois beat Minnesota 81-72.

College football bowl action yesterday saw Purdue downed Western Michigan 37-32 in the Little Caesars Bowl. The Belk Bowl was won by North Carolina State over Louisville 31-24.
Today at 3:30 p.m. Air Force plays Toledo in the Military Bowl. The Holiday Bowl at 7 p.m. has Texas tangling with California.

Iowa State will go to the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium to play Rutgers Friday December 30th at 2:30 p.m. KILJ-AM 1130 will carry the game live.
The Hawkeyes go bowling in Tempe Arizona at the Insight Bowl Friday December 30th at 9 pm against Oklahoma. KILJ-FM 105.5 will carry the game live.

Get ready to participate in the Lose IT! (Weight loss challenge) at the Mt. Pleasant REC Center
Registration deadline is January 7th
Competition begins January 9th
Lose IT! is a 2 person team weight loss challenge at the REC Center beginning January 9th, 2012. Each team is required to weigh in every two weeks where they will also have their body fat percentage checked. The team with the most weight/percentage of body fat lost by April 18, 2012 will win our Grand Prize of $500, Yearly Individual memberships, and 8 free personal training sessions (each). Prizes will also be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place teams.
