Roger Anthony Scalise, 72, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 8:20 p.m. at his home.
He was born June 18, 1939 in Hampton, Iowa, he was the son of Anthony and Esther Scalice.
Survivors include one son David (Julie) Mann of Hamilton, Illinois, two daughters Deb (Jim) Donahoo of Prairie City, Iowa, Melodie (Albert) Lewis of Newton, Iowa, many grandchildren & great grandchildren, one brother Bob (Ardella) Scalice of Hampton, Iowa, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver Argene Merryman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam “Mim”, one daughter Debbie Clem, two brothers and one grandson Jacob Lewis.
Roger served in the United States Air Force. After, he and his wife Mim, owned and operated the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Keokuk, Iowa and the Woods Motel in Donnellson, Iowa. He enjoyed traveling and bowling.
There will be no visitation.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa.
Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, Iowa.
Memorials will be established in his memory and mailed to the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home at P.O. Box 56, Donnellson, Iowa, 52625.
