Henry County Health Center is offering an opportunity to participate in a program that provides healthy meals for families. “Healthy Meals 2go” features three delicious meal choices that are heart healthy, low in carbohydrates, low in sodium, and delicious in taste.
The “Healthy Meals 2go” program provides three healthy meal choices of pork tenderloin with vegetables, BBQ pulled pork with sweet potato wedges and coleslaw, and meatballs with pasta marinara and salad. For $25, participants can choose two meals to serve a family of four. The public can call 319-385-6518 by Thursday, March 8, to make meal selections and sign up for a time to pick up the meals. Pick-up will be on Thursday, March 15, between the hours of 4 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at HCHC’s Park Terrace Café. A door prize will be given to the first 20 people who register.
“Henry County Health Center is pleased to offer this program for the community. We know how important it is for families to eat healthy, and that may not always seem easy in today’s busy culture. But providing healthy choices doesn’t need to be difficult, and we hope this program will show people that there are easy, healthy recipes that they can make for their families. We will also send families home with the recipe so they can recreate the healthy meal at home. A special thank you goes to our sponsors Sheila McAllister & Hy-Vee who realize the importance of providing healthy meal options for families. Our goal is to teach people that eating healthy at home can be easy and affordable,” said Amy Martin, RN, CDE.
