Iowa Wesleyan College psychiatric nursing students are working to re-establish a local National Alliance on Mental Illness support group. This is a service learning project under the direction of nurse practitioner and instructor Lisa Congable. The students are also working with Angie Goodpasture to set up and promote the support group but also to educate the public about mental illness in order to battle the stigma against those with a mental illness. There will be a Share and Care every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. The kickoff is February 21. Tune in Monday for a KILJ Breakfast Club with the students and learn more about their project and mental illness.

Jason Edwards, Professor of Music at Iowa Wesleyan College has gathered together an impressive group of musicians for Sunday’s Hometown Concert. The Mt. Pleasant Woman’s Club and KILJ Radio are pleased to present the February concert in this year’s series at 2 pm Sunday in the IWC Chapel Auditorium. Join KILJ for Sunday Focus following the noon news as Theresa Rose visits with Edwards about his musical background and the program for Sunday’s concert.
