Weather Problems for Motorists

Written by on February 24, 2012 in News

As always seems the case, the weather in Southeast Iowa early this morning caused some slippery road conditions that in turn caused problems for drivers. Just after 3 am a semi was reported struck on the shoulder west of Rome on Hwy 34. At about 4 am the sheriff’s office received a report of a car in the ditch near Olds on Hwy 218. On Hwy 34 east of New London a car slipped off the road into the median and then a 5 am deputies investigated a roll over accident in the 3100 grid of Lexington Avenue. Daniel Butcher of rural Mt. Pleasant lost control on the snow covered road causing his truck to roll when it went into the ditch. No injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
