The MPHS girl’s bowling team has qualified for the State Bowling Championships next week in Des Moines. The Panthers hosted a bowling district yesterday and finished second to Keokuk who won the event with a 2,743 score. MP rolled a 2,684, Steph Ford led the Panthers with a 421 score.
The MPHS boys team finished 4th in the district with a 2,910 score, L&M won the event with a 3,101 total.

The #3 ranked MPHS boys basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a win at home Thursday night against Ottumwa by a score of 58-41. Jordon Ashton bombed in five three point field goals on his way to a 24 point night. Nick Lyon added 13 points and Cameron Frank hit for 10. MPHS will take a 20-1 record into their District tournament opener at home Monday night with Ft. Madison.

Boys 1A District games last night saw #1 ranked Danville roll over West Burlington 81-11 and Holy Trinity Catholic edged Waco 44-41. HTC will travel to Danville next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for a District semi final game.
6th ranked Keota beat Harmony 59-35 and Sigourney beat Winfield Mt. Union 59-29, Sigourney will play at Keota next Tuesday in that District semi.

Boys 2A District play saw Mediapolis beat Burlington Notre Dame 49-43 and Van Buren won over Pekin 64-58 (ot). Van Buren and Mediapolis play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Fairfield in the District championship game.

Girls Regional tournament basketball tonight class 1A has Winfield Mt. Union hosting #14 Burlington Notre Dame at 7 p.m. KILJ-FM and kilj.com will have score updates during our Mediapolis broadcast. Moulton Udell plays Lynnville Sully at Knoxville. Those winners will meet Monday at Ottumwa in a Regional Final.
Class 2A Regional action has #14 Bellevue playing #11 Mediapolis at Durant high School, KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the action live beginning at 7 p.m.
The other half of the Regional has Columbus Community playing Central Lee at Mt. Pleasant High School gym at 7 p.m. We’ll keep you posted on the score of that game.
The winners will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Burlington.

Saturday night in 3A Regional basketball Keokuk plays Washington at Mt. Pleasant high School at 7 p.m. Oskaloosa will play Benton Community at Van Horne at 7 p.m.
The winners will meet at Washington or Tiffin Tuesday night in the Regional final.
4A Regional play has Burlington playing at Muscatine at 7 p.m.
