The Mt. Pleasant Community High School Music Department will present Dessert Theatre – “Las Vegas Style” – on April 14-15. Reserved tickets for the annual fundraising event will go on sale Wednesday, April 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the high school commons.
Tickets are $10 per person and there is a limit of purchase of 10 at a time. The event includes a seat at a reserved table of eight in the specially decorated and lit gymnasium. The highlight at intermissionare the layer cakes, cheesecakes and beverages served by members of the middle school jazz band and show choir.
This year’s show is themed around famous Las Vegas featured performers through the years. Music from popular culture’s favorite performers dating back 50 years to currently running shows in Vegas will entertain the event-goers. All of the music is arranged by the Mt. Pleasant high school instrumental and choral directors, Jim DePriest and Phil Schroetter.
The Saturday, April 14 performance is at 7:00 p.m. It features the high school jazz bands and show choir as well as individual soloists. For the Sunday, April 15 performance at 2:00 p.m., the high school performers will be joined by the middle school show choir and jazz band for their only performance.
The tickets are only sold between 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the high school on April 4 and then will be moved to Brown’s Shoe Fit downtown and sold there until the performances. Remaining tickets will be available at the door at the same price. After the table seats sell there are $6 bleacher seats available that do not include dessert.
