Mt. Pleasant Spring Clean Up Dates and Rules

The City of Mount Pleasant will begin its annual Spring Clean Up during the weeks of April 30 thru May 11. Spring Clean Up is a one week opportunity for residents of Mount Pleasant to rid your home of those unusual or large items that are too big to fit into a garbage bag for your regular garbage collection day. The collection work is done by WEMIGA WASTE. Spring Clean Up will be held over two weeks beginning April 30. Schedule for pick up is as follows:

Normal Garbage Day:
Monday, April 30th; waste will be picked up on April 30th and May 1st.
Tuesday, May 1st; waste will be picked up on May 2nd and 3rd.
Wednesday, May 9th; waste will be picked up on May 7th and May 8th
Thursday, May 10th; waste will be picked up on May 9th and May 10th

Tires, Waste Oil, Batteries, Roof Shingles, Ashes
Liquids, such as Anti freeze, Household Chemicals and Wet Paint
No Construction Materials Of Any Kind such as drywall, wood, etc.
Televisions and Computer Monitors
No Yard Waste

Leave the lids off your paint cans. If you have old paint cans and the paint is dry, we can take them. We cannot take wet paint of any kind.
We can take all kinds of carpet. Carpet must be tightly rolled and tied to be collected

APPLIANCES: We will collect all kinds of appliances: refrigerators, stoves, ovens, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, freezers, dishwashers, microwaves, and stereo. Televisions and computer monitors can no longer be picked up. For safety purposes, please remove the doors of freezers and refrigerators when you put them out to the curb. You must put a minimum of eight (8) City garbage stickers on each appliance you wish to have picked up.

GARBAGE STICKERS: Attach the five (5) garbage stickers to a large item (not to include appliances) in a visible location. Please adhere stickers no earlier than the morning of your pickup date to ensure scavengers don’t take the adhered to item. Five garbage stickers will ensure the collection of your materials. Pile size limited to equivalent to unit 6′ wide x 8′ long x 4′ tall, excludes appliances and separated metal pile.
