The Iowa State Patrol investigated two accidents on Tuesday and have released the details on both.
The first one occurred just before 10 am on Hwy 34 in Jefferson County. Gary Watson of Mt. Pleasant was stopped in his vehicle at the intersection with Dewberry Avenue. A semi driven by George Thibault of Albia was traveling west on 34. Watson didn’t see the semi and pulled in front of it causing a collision. Both vehicles ended up in the median. The semi and the trailer it was pulling separated and the trailer overturned spilling its load. No one was hurt. Watson was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.

The second accident occurred in Henry County on Hwy 218 north of Mt. Pleasant at about 4 pm. Claudia Streeter of Mt. Pleasant was making a left hand turn from 140th Street onto northbound hwy 218. Streeter pulled out in front of a second vehicle driven by Venancio Encarnacion of Columbus Junction. The Encarnacion car rolled and came to rest on its top. Neither driver was injured. Streeter was cited for failure to yield upon entering a thru highway.
