Roberta Ann Bell, age 74 of Columbus Junction, died Monday March 26, 2012 at the Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. The daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Bell) Boyd, she was born January 15, 1938 at Cotter. On April 20, 1957 she married Jerry Bell at Cotter. She was a graduate of the Cotter High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jerry Bell Trucking and retired as head cook at the Columbus Community Schools after 17 years employment. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Columbus Junction and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include: her husband, Jerry of Columbus Junction; three sons, Gerry and Julie Bell of Brooksville, Fla.; Steve and Diane Bell of Columbus City; Tom and Marcia Bell of Parker, CO.; seven grandchildren and twin great grandsons; one brother Daniel Boyd of Columbus Junction and one sister Betty Lou Burns of Maquoketa;
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be held Saturday March 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Faye Fedlam officiating; interment will follow at the Columbus City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will meet with friends at this time.
Memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Church and Colonial Manor Care Center.
