Ottumwa handed the MPHS softball team two losses last night as the Bulldogs beat the Panthers 5-2 and 3-0 at the “Dogs House.” Jena Stukerjuergen pitched the first game for MP and Sammi Goble the second. Shelby Allender doubled in each game to lead Mt. Pleasant’s hitting. Gabby Hill and Goble had the RBI’s in the first game.
Panthers host Keokuk Tuesday.

Softball today: Centerville Tournament is going on Keokuk will be there, L&M is hosting a tournament, Waco has a tournament and Wapello is playing at the Williamsburg tournament.
Baseball Friday: Burlington swept Keokuk 8-0 and 8-6, New London 8 Central Lee 7, Van Buren 20 Harmony 0, WMU/Waco 25 Columbus 1.

Iowa Wesleyan College’s Keith Brown (Fr.-Milwaukee, Wis.) was eliminated in the semifinals of the 110-meter hurdles Friday afternoon at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Brown finished seventh of nine participants in the first of two semifinal heats, coming home in a time of 14.70 seconds. Overall he finished 12th of 18 hurdlers in the two heats, missing advancement to the finals by three places and .06.
The MPHS boy’s soccer team advanced down the district tournament trail with a 3-2 win over Fairfield on the road Wednesday night. The win avenged two regular season losses to the Trojans.
Clear Creek Amana rolled over #11 ranked Keokuk 3-1 in the other district final and will now face the Panthers on tomorrow at East Lake Park in the 2A sub state soccer final with the winner advancing onto state in Des Moines next week.
Class 1A district final play saw 10th ranked Holy Trinity Catholic defeat Notre Dame-West Burlington 2-1. The Crusaders now play 4th ranked West Liberty in the sub state final to be played Saturday at noon at South park in West Point.
The Iowa Girls high School Athletic union has released the soccer post season tournament schedule. Mt. Pleasant girls soccer team will open post season play on May 29th at home against the winner of the Oskaloosa vs Ottumwa match that will be played May 24th in Oskaloosa. The bottom half of the bracket will have Chariton, Knoxville and Pella involved. After the May 29th semi finals, the Regional Championships will be played on June 4th at Pella.
