Former Mt. Pleasant Resident Dead after Minnesota Accident

A former Mt. Pleasant resident has died after a Monday accident in Minnesota.  The Minnesota State Patrol reports that 55-year old Martha Meade was killed shortly before 6 pm Monday on Highway 44 near Spring Grove.  Elizabeth Faldet of Decorah was driving on the highway and stopped in a lane of traffic.  Her vehicle was then hit from behind by a pickup driven by Alvin Darling, also of Decorah.  Darling was not injured but four people in the Faldet vehicle were and they were all transported to the Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.  Martha Meade was pronounced dead at the hospital.  Of the other occupants in the car, one is listed in critical condition and the other two were treated and released.
