Steffen To Bid For Iowa House D-83 Republican Nomination

On Monday, July 30th at 7pm the Lee County Republican Party will be holding a nomination convention at the
Pilot Grove Community Room at 501 N. Main St. in Donnellson to consider and vote on Jim Steffen as the Republican nominee for the District 83 Iowa House seat. Iowa House District 83 includes Ft. Madison and Keokuk and all the rural townships south of Highway 2, as well as Washington and Green Bay townships in northeast Lee county.

All central committee members residing in the district will serve as delegates to the convention, and will take nominations and elect a candidate for the November ballot. Iowa House 83 is currently held by Jerry Kearns,
a three term incumbent from Keokuk.

Jim has worked at the Iowa State Penitentiary for 9 years. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, United States Army and is currently member of the Iowa National Guard. Jim and his wife Diana have
been married 22 years and have 4 children and 4 grandchildren, and reside in the rural Argyle area.
