Registration materials for the Mt. Pleasant 5th & 6th Grade Tackle Football League this fall will be available to pick up August 2nd at school registration at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School.
2012 PANTHER FOOTBALL T-SHIRTS ON SALE
The new 2012 Mt. Pleasant Panther football t-shirts will also be available at both the high school and the middle school.

Mt. Pleasant Community School will have football camp beginning next Wednesday. Football Camp will begin Wednesday, August 1st at
Maple Leaf Field and will end on Friday, August 3rd. There is no fee to attend. Any boy in Grades 7-12 in the Mt. Pleasant Community School District is welcome. Grades 9-12 will have camp from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Grades 7 & 8 will have camp from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
All players must bring a completed physical form to be
turned in, or have one on file, to be able to participate and
should be at the Maple Leaf Athletic Complex a half hour
before the start time the first day of camp.

The 2012 State Baseball Championships are all wrapped up now. Martensdale St. Mary’s won the 1A title with a 1-0 win over Mason City Newman Catholic, the St. Mary’s pitcher threw a no hitter.
Robbie Anstoetter went 4-for-4 with two RBI’s to lead Dyersville Beckman to its first state championship since 2000, as the Blazers defeated North Polk 3-1 in the 2A state finals at Principal Park on Saturday.
Dallas Center Grimes rolled to the 3A championship with a 13-0 win over Decorah and Ankeny beat Ft. Dodge 10-0.

Two legal strikes in three days were enough for Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz — running back De’Andre Johnson has been suspended from the team.
De’Andre has been suspended immediately from all team activities.
The sophomore’s most recent bout with the law was Saturday, two days after being cited for a disorderly house. Johnson was charged with eluding on Saturday just two days after being cited for a disorderly house.
