The MPHS volleyball team made it to the semi finals of the Burlington Invitational Saturday, they fell to eventual champion Muscatine 2-0. Before that in pool play they beat Burlington Purple and Galesburg and lost to Ft. Madison who made it to the championship match against Muscatine.
Ellino Krieger-Coble and Kelsi Phipps each had 16 kills. Ashley Loving had 21 assists and 14 digs.

#1 ranked class 3A Mediapolis won the Southeast Iowa Super Conference volleyball tournament. They beat #2 ranked class 1A Holy trinity Catholic 2-0. In the quarterfinals they beat Danville 2-0, in the semis downed New London 2-0. New London won the consolation match over #15 ranked class 1A Winfield Mt. Union. This is the 6th time the Bullettes have won the tournament since it began in 1991.

Lindenwood-Bellview defeated the IWC Tigers 35-28 in football Saturday in mt. pleasant. The Tigers go to University of St. Francis inJoliet, ill. this saturday. Wesleyan now has a record of 1-3.

The Tigers’ men’s golf team competed at the Iowa Intercollegiate Invite on Thursday and Friday at The Preserve on the Rathbun Lake Golf Course. The tournament was hosted by William Penn University.
The Tigers finished eighth overall as a team, shooting a 650 two-day team score. The Tigers opened up the first round on Thursday with a 328, improving by six strokes on Friday with a 322 final round. Grandview University won the tournament with a 570, shooting six under for the entire tournament as a team. AIB College of Business was second (588), followed by Mount Mercy University (590).
The Tigers were led by Blake Mitchell (Jr.-Loveland, Colo.), who finished in a tie for 25th overall. Mitchell was 11 over par in the tournament. Trent Hoekstra (So.-Cedar Rapids, Iowa) followed closely behind in a tie for 32nd, just five strokes behind Mitchell at 16 over par. Patrick Zielinski (Fr.-Mt. Pleasant, Iowa) was 34th overall finishing at 19 over par.
The Tigers return to action next Friday and Saturday as the head to Panora, Iowa for the AIB Fall Invitational at the Lake Panorama.
