MOUNT PLEASANT—The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance and KILJ Radio remind Henry County voters that candidates for county supervisor will debate from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, October 26, at the Mount Pleasant Library and Civic Center.

Incumbent Republican Gary See, Republican Greg Moeller, and Democrat Kurt Garretson are vying for two seats on the Henry County Board of Supervisors. All plan to appear. Also scheduled to attend is Rich McNamee, an independent candidate for sheriff. Allen Wittmer, who recently withdrew from the sheriff’s race, will not participate.

Moderating the debate will be Dan McCabe, Vice President of the Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission. Audience members will be invited to submit written questions for the candidates. Not all questions will be used.

The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance candidate debates are an excellent venue for civic discussion, as candidates discover through the questions what issues are of primary importance to the public. The Chamber Alliance Government Affairs Committee elected to host the 2012 forums over the lunch hour in hopes of encouraging greater attendance. The Chamber Alliance will provide coffee, water and tea. Audience members are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch if desired.

KILJ will record and re-play the debate October 28 following the Sunday Noon News at about 12:15 pm and again Wednesday October 31 following the Evening Report at about 5:30 pm courtesy of Two Rivers Bank in Mt. Pleasant.
