His name will remain on the ballot, but Henry County Sheriff Allen Wittmer has accepted a position with the U.S. Marshals Service in Texas. Wittmer announced he will retire from his job as sheriff effective November 10. He and his wife Blanca will move to San Antonio where he will work as a court Security officer in the Federal Court System.
