Winfield Teen Arrested on Several Charges

19 year old Tyler Wood of Winfield is charged with 2nd degree robbery, 3 counts of 3rd degree burglary, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, OWI first offense and 2 counts of criminal mischief. Other charges against Wood are pending. He was arrested Friday in connection with a robbery at Golden Furrow Fertilizer in New London. A semi driver for the company arrived at work just before 5 am Friday to discover Wood burglarizing his truck cab. The two struggled and Wood escaped. When New London police and a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy arrived, a vehicle was fleeing the scene. After a short pursuit and a struggle with Wood who was driving, the teen was taken to the Henry County jail.
