The Mt Pleasant Panther JV Football team travelled to Fairfield Monday night. Fairfield topped the Panthers 22-6.
Cole Phillips was 2 for 83 yards, and posted the Panther TD in the 4th quarter on a pass from Spencer White. Beau Parkevich led rushing for Mt Pleasant with 3 carries for 32 yards…
Tyler Ruby racked up 13 tackles and 1 interception.
The Panthers are now 2 & 4, and will host the Washington JV team Monday at 5:30pm.

The Mt Pleasant 8th grade Volleyball team faced Aldo Leopold Monday night.
In the “A” match, Mt Pleasant won 21-10, 21-18. Bailey Johnson was 8-11 with 8 points.
Abbie Liechty was 9-9, Sara Moffett 6-6, Leah Johnson 5-5, and Genna Cristoforo was 5-6.
In the “B” match, it was Aldo Leopold winning 21-13, 21-15. Emma Overton was 9-11 for Mt Pleasant with 8 points.
And in the “C” match, Aldo Leopold won 21-17, 21-11.
For Mt Pleasant, Brooklyn Fraise was 8-9, Lauren Brousseau 5-6, and Melanie Campbell

In other area Volleyball – Danville took three from Lone Tree 25-15, 25-12, 25-21… and Notre Dame topped Fairfield Maharishi 25-8, 25-16, 25-12.

Mediapolis, Columbus Community, Winfield Mt Union, Louisa Muscatine, Holy Trinity Catholic, Cardinal, Highland, Keota, Sigourney, and Wilton all participated in the Mike Jay Cross Country Invitational Monday at Columbus Junction.
Wilton won the boys team competition with a team score of 43, followed by Mediapolis in 2nd place, with a score of 52… WMU took 6th place.
Dillon Timmerman for Mediapolis won the boys race with a time of 16 minutes, 35 seconds. In the girls competition, Mediapolis won the team title, with a score of 30. Savannah Banwart for Mediapolis also took 2nd place in the girls race with a time of 17:30.
