The Lady Panthers volleyball program traveled to Ft. Madison last night to face off with the Bloodhounds in Southeast Conference play and came away with a sweep of the Freshman, JV and varsity matches.

Other area volleyball scores: #1 ranked class 3A Mediapolis won 2-1 over #2 ranked class 1A Holy Trinity Catholic in the championship match of the Mediapolis Invitational last night, scores were the Bullettes won 21-19, 22-24, 16-14 in the title match against the Crusaders. Mepo ended the night 4-0, HTC was 3-1.

The Ft. Madison girls won the Southeast Conference cross country meet on their home course with a 29 score, Mt. Pleasant was second with 41. For the Panthers best finish Natalie Ita was 4th, Emma Ludwig 5th, Chloe Haffarnan 7th, Ellie Conrad 12th, and Maddie Lance 13th. Sara Stefensmeier was first overall.
Ft. Madison boys cross country team ranked 15th in the state won the boys division with a score of 21, Mt. Pleasant was second with 40. For M.P. Logan Mulford was 4th, Brach Prough 5th, Drew Perry 8th, Tommy Thorne 10thHenry Pham 13th.
Overall winner was Isaac Steffensmeier of Ft. Madison.

Ft. Madison defeated Mt. Pleasant’s “A” team in middle school 7th grade football Thursday 44-8. Brady Sartorius scored the touchdown and then threw a 2 point conversion pass to Jordon Magnani. Leading the defense were: Garin Crane, Joe Staats, Tanner ruby and Caleb Potts. The Panther “A” team ends the year with a 4-1-1 record.
In the “B: game Ft. Madison won 28-6, Joe Coberly caught a 74 yard touchdown pass from Payton Kelly. The top defensive players were: Bryce Fraise, Williams Banks and James Lobdell. The “B” teams ends the year 4-2.

Keokuk comes to Mt. Pleasant to battle in high school football tonight. Both the Panthers and the Chiefs have a District #7 record of 2-2, both are still contending for a playoff spot. Mt. Pleasant with wins this week against the Chiefs and next week at Williamsburg would get in.
Gabe Vandenberg leads the Chiefs passing attack hitting 62% of his passes, he has thrown 15 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. The top receiver is Darrion Sanders who has caught passes covering 565 yards and 6 scores, Dan Williams has caught 514 yards in passes and scored 5 times. Rushing the ball Keokuk is led by Trevor Roth with 636 yards on the ground and Matt Nye has added 531, together they have 15 rushing touchdowns.
Mt. Pleasant’s offensive stats: Connor Shull has thrown for 803 yards 4 td’s and 6 int’s. Josh Larson has rushed for 270 yards and 4 scores. Dalton Conrad has caught 25 passes for 442 yards and 2 scores. Carson Remick leads the tackling with 78, Tony Cristoforo has 56 stops.
KILJ-FM 105.5 and will carry the game live beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the pre-game show. The freshman game will be played at 5 p.m. JV teams of the two schools play Monday in Keokuk.
