Keokuk handed Mt. Pleasant a 63-21 loss in District-7 football Friday night to clinch a playoff spot, M.P. is still in contention for the playoffs after Centerville upset Fairfield, it will take a win at District leader Williamsburg for the Panthers to get in.. Chiefs got out to a 21-0 lead on long scoring plays before MPHS got on the board in the 1st quarter with a 39 yard touchdown pass from Connor Shull to Dalton Conrad. Josh Larson then scored from 5 yards out to pull the home team to with 21-14 with 9:01 to play in the 1st half. Keokuk answered with 3 scores in the last 8 minutes of the half to lead 42-21 at intermission. The other Panther score was a 10 yard pass from Shull to Alex O’Donnell. Liam Clancy added the PAT’s.
In the second half Keokuk put up another 21 points.
In the freshman game Keokuk won 46-0. The JV teams of the two schools will play in Keokuk Monday night.

IWC plays at St. Ambrose today in college football. KILJ-FM has the Iowa at Michigan St. game at 10 a.m. and KILJ-AM 1130 has Iowa State vs Kansas St. at 9 a.m.

The Mt. Pleasant 7th grade volleyball team played Ottumwa at Home October 11, 2012 for their final match of the season.
