The Mt. Pleasant High School girls cross country team ran in the 3A Regional meet at Anamosa last night the top three teams and top ten individuals qualify for the State Meet in Ft. Dodge next weekend.

The Class 1A Regional and District cross country meet at Ottumwa was rescheduled for Monday, the 2A Regional/District at Columbus Community was also moved to Monday.

Mt. Pleasant Panther Volleyball team won all three matches against Keokuk last night to wrap up the regular season. The Freshman beat the Chiefs 2-1 and the JV won 2-0. The Varsity won in a sweep 25-15, 25-13, 25-19.
The panthers took 2nd place in conference with a record of 6-2 and are now 17-15 overall. Next the Panthers have 4 days of practice before the play on Thursday October 25th for regional play!

The regular season comes to an end for the Mt. Pleasant High School football team tonight, but they are still alive for a playoff spot if they can knock off the 6th ranked Williamsburg Raiders tonight on their home field. M.P. is 2-6 overall and 2-3 in the district. Williamsburg is 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the district, their only loss was a season opening defeat at the hands of Grinnell 21-10.

The Detroit Tigers captured the American League Championship Series with an 8-1 win over the New York Yankees.
St. Louis is now one win away from capturing the National league Championship Series after beating San Francisco in St. Louis Last night 8-3. The Cards who lead the series 3 games to 1, can clinch tonight at home in game five. The World Series begins next Wednesday in the National League team park.
