The American Red Cross Des Moines County is pleased to announce that its offices will move as of November 20, 2012. The office will move from their current location on the 8th floor of the F&M Bank Building to 2807 Summer Street near the airport.
The move will allow the Red Cross to have all of its vehicles in one place and access to all of their supplies on one floor.
“The move to the new building will allow us to further enhance our visibility in the community,” said Branch Director, Brooke Mehaffey, “We truly feel that this new location will help us to better fulfill our mission of helping our community to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters,”
The local Red Cross serves residents in Des Moines and Henry County in Iowa and is part of the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area, which serves 11 counties in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012, the Chapter assisted 129 families following a disaster, trained 16,446 individuals in First Aid, CPR, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and provided pre-deployment briefings and emergency communications for 1,248 active duty military personnel and their families.
