At a recent school assembly, Lincoln School of Mt. Pleasant received word that they have been honored by the US Department of Education as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School as an “Exemplary High Performing School.”  This is a very selective award and only five schools in the state were honored.  To celebrate, Principal Pam Cushman and Teacher Angie Jandrey will leave Sunday for Washington, D.C. for recognition.

For two days they will meet with officials from the Department of Education.  On Tuesday at 11 am Central Time, they will be part of the 2012 National Blue Ribbon Recognition Ceremony that will be streaming live.  In speaking to Principal Cushman this morning, she said that she was extremely honored and proud of her school.  She wanted to stress that though there were two going heading east, they were accepting the award on behalf of the entire Lincoln School staff.
