Southeastern Community College was recently re-accredited by its regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC notified SCC on October 29, 2012 that the college met all accreditation standards and has successfully been reaccredited for another seven-year cycle.
SCC President Michael Ash explains that accreditation is the cornerstone of educational institutions. It is a formal recognition that the college maintains high quality standards in all aspects of the institution.
Ash says, “Becoming re-accredited shows that SCC is a quality institution. We are constantly looking for ways to make important improvements.”
