Ninth ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie improved their record to 1-1 as they handed the Mt. Pleasant panther girls basketball team their second loss of the season Friday night in Cedar Rapids by a score of 58-26. No Panthers reached double figure scoring as M.P. struggled with ball handling and offense once again. Leading the way offensively was Taryne Shull with 9 points. It was the second game in a row that Mt. Pleasant played a ranked class 5A opponent. This Friday night MPHS will go to Fairfield to begin Southeast Conference play.

Jon Umoren scored 17 points to lead the Iowa Wesleyan College men in scoring but it wasn’t enough to grab a victory over Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin Friday night the Tigers fell by a score of 85-73, Wesleyan is now 5-2 on the year. The Tigers play again today in the Carthage Tournament.

Southeastern Community College won Friday night 86-75 over Mineral Area in the Pzazz Classic they hosted. Former Mt. Pleasant panther Nick Lyon scored 8 points.

Stanford defeated UNI in men’s basketball 66-50. Cincinnati beat Iowa State 78-70.
ISU women won over Loyola Marymount 55-33. Florida International beat Iowa women 66-65.

The Iowa Duals wrestling tournament is being hosted by the Hawkeyes today in Iowa City.

The Iowa Hawkeyes wrapped up their football season Friday at home against Nebraska losing 13-7. Henry Krieger-Coble caught one pass for 6 yards. Jordon Cotton caught no passes and did not get any returnable kicks from the Cornhuskers.
Iowa State dropped their regular season finale at home Friday. West Virginia defeated the Cyclones 31-24, ISU is 6-6 and will go to a post season bowl next month.
