Coach Jess Settles and the Iowa Wesleyan College Tiger men’s basketball team have it going on right now, they are 4-1 after back to back wins Tuesday and Wednesday. The Tigers went on the road last night and defeated NCAA Division Two Quincy University 83-82. The two teams were tied 42 all at halftime. Leading the Tigers to the win were Kyle Warner with 19 points, Derrick Nilissen and Bruce Brooks both scored 11 and Cam Sanchez 10. Scott Hahn former Mt. Pleasant Panther scored 2 points for Quincy U.
Wesleyan now goes to Colorado to play in a tournament, Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. to take part in the Alamosa Tourism & Bankers Classic on Nov. 16-17. The Tigers will face Adams State on Friday at 7:00pm CST. They then take on New Mexico Highlands on Saturday at 2:00pm CST.

The UNI Panther men edged Toledo last night in a game you heard live on KILJ-FM by a score of 84-81 in overtime.
Tonight KILJ will bring you the Howard at Iowa men’s game beginning at 6 p.m.

Iowa Wesleyan College is hosting their annual girl’s high school basketball jamboree. Play begins at 6 p.m. with Waco vs Holy Trinity, 6:40-Danville vs WMU, 7:20-MPHS vs Mediapolis, 8 p.m. New London vs Wapello, 8:40-Columbus Community vs West Burlington, 9:20-L&M vs Harmony.

The Mt. Pleasant Community High School girls’ basketball teams will be playing Hall of Pride scrimmage games Friday, November 16th. These games are granted to Iowa high schools that participate in a community project to help others. This year the girls helped with a project at the Fellowship Cup.
In conjunction with these games, anyone school age and up will be admitted if they bring two or more canned goods to donate at the admission table. If they do not bring canned goods the normal $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students will be charged. There will be no admission charge for the 9th grade game which will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Community Middle School.
The schedule for the games are as follows:
6:00 p.m. – 9th grade girls at the Middle School
6:30 p.m. – JV girls at the high school
8:00 p.m. Varsity girls at the high school
