Mt. Pleasant Middle School 7th grade boy’s basketball team played Ft. Madison yesterday. MP won the “A” game 44-21, Colin Mulford led the Panther scoring with 14 points and Brady Sartorius 9. Ft. Madison won the “B” game 24-20, Nick Steffens had 8 points to lead Mt. Pleasant in scoring.

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches held their annual Senior All Star meet Saturday at Des Moines Area Community College. The Southeast Iowa All Star team won the title with a score of 33, Northeast Iowa was second at 45, Southwest Iowa 98 and Northwest Iowa finished with a 110 score. Isaac Steffensmeier of Ft. Madison was the overall winner in a time of 15:25. Mt. Pleasant had three runner competing, Drew Perry was 73rd in 18:07, Brach Prough 78th in 18:26, Tommy Thorne finished 80th in 18:46.
In the open division 14 year old 8th grader from Mt. Pleasant Logan Murray finished 4th in a time of 16:58. The winner was a 17 year old from Monticello who ran 15:43.

KILJ-FM 105.5 and tonight will bring you the Holy Trinity Catholic meet the players radio show for the state tournament bound volleyball team. We’ll interview the players and coach beginning at 6 p.m. courtesy of Ann Menke C.P.A of West Point.

The Iowa Wesleyan College men’s basketball team will take their 1-0 record on the road tonight to play Grandview College in Des Moines. The Tigers opened the season at home Saturday with a win against Illinois Benedictine.
Quincy University played an exhibition game at Illinois State last night. Scott Hahn former Mt. Pleasant Panther played 11 minutes and scored 4 points and had 4 rebounds as the Hawks lost 93-64.
Taylor Shull freshman guard for the Bradley University women’s basketball team and former Mt. Pleasant Panther played 12 minutes, scored 5 points and handed out 3 assists in an exhibition game the Braves had with Lindenwood November the 1st. Bradley opens the regular season this Friday.

In Monday night football action in the NFL the New Oleans Saints beat the Eagles 28-13.

The undefeated Mediapolis Bulldog football team is busily preparing for their next football playoff game. It will be at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for a semi final game Saturday November 10th at 7 P.M. against Dyersville Beckman who has a record of 11-1. Spirit Lake and Carroll Kuemper are the other semi finalists.

Holy Trinity Catholic will begin selling advance tickets to the November 8th State Volleyball Tournament match against Marquette Catholic of Bellevue today thru Wednesday from 8 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. at the school. Tickets are $8 each for students and adults.
