The Mt Pleasant Girls Basketball Team was on the road last night at Fairfield, and came home with a “W”, topping the Trojans 68-38. Jeff Broeg has the wrap up of Friday night’s action….
Kelsey Phipps stuffed the hoop with 20 points… Taryne Shull added 17. The Panther girls are now 1&2 overall, and 1-0 in the conference. The Panther girls host Pella this afternoon, with the JV game starting at 1pm, and the Varsity to follow.

The Mt Pleasant Panthers boys hosted Fairfield Friday night at Panther Gym, and defended their home court with a 62-24 win over the Trojans. Cameron Frank led Mt Pleasant in scoring with 10, Connor Shull added 9, and eight other Panthers added to the tally as the game rolled on. The Iowa Wesleyan Tigers faced a tough, undefeated Briar Cliff University team on Friday night in Mt. Pleasant. After 40 minutes of play, the Chargers left Ruble Arena still undefeated as the Tigers fell 53-80, leaving the Tigers with a 1-8 record on the year now.
Ashley Kruse (Sr.-Lakefield, Minn.) led the Tigers with 14 points. Mariah Sartorius (Jr.-Kingston, Ill.) added 11.
The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 5 as they host St. Ambrose University.
After announcing in early November that the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars will be returning to 34 Raceway on June 7th, promoters have now announced another huge event has been added to the 2013 schedule.
On July 13th, the ground shaking UMP Late Model Summer Nationals Hell Tour will be coming to 34 Raceway with $10,000 going to the winner.
The UMP Summer Nationals is a grueling six-week schedule featuring 32 races. Last year, the schedule was condensed into five weeks, with 28 shows at 28 different tracks around the Midwest.
