The Mt. Pleasant High School Girls Basketball Team improved their record overall to 2-2 and their Southeast Conference record to 1-0, after beating Fairfield in league play Friday on the road 68-38. Kelsi Phipps scored 20 and Taryne Shull 17 in the win.
Saturday the Panthers played at home against Pella and won 58-48, Taryne Shull scored 19 points, Kelsi Phipps had 15, Mary Wester and Natalie Myers each scored 10 points. M.P. tangles with Keokuk Friday.

The MPHS Boys defeated Fairfield in Panther Gym Friday 62-24. Ryan Hanna scored 11 points and Cameron Frank 10. Saturday the Panthers went to Pella and lost 62-49, Ryan Hanna scored 13 points and Logan Mulford 11. Mt Pleasant is 1-2 and plays host to Cedar Rapids Prairie Tuesday night.
KILJ-FM 105.5 and will carry the game live.

Mt. Pleasant finished 3rd in the William Howell Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Wapello with
152 points and 3 champions. Justin Dilks 182, Colton Aplara at 195 and Emmett Wester at 285 brought home gold. Wilton won the tourney with 200 points.
Oskaloosa won the Jeremy Fulk Invitational in the New London-WMU tourney with 176 points, the host school finished 7th with 86.
Mediapolis won the Dick Mellinger Tournament at Burlington with 304 points and 7 champions.

The Iowa Wesleyan Tiger men’s Basketball Team traveled to Pella, Iowa to take on the Central College Dutch on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers came away with a big 92-88 overtime victory over the Dutch as the Tigers played a great team game.
The Tigers had five scorers in double figures, led by Jon Umoren and Kyle Warner who each had 21 points. Umoren shot an impressive 16-of-17 from the free throw line, and added nine assists leading the point. Warner was 7-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
The win brings the Tigers back to .500 at 6-6 for the year. The Dutch are now 4-2. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 4 as they travel to Springfield, Ill. to take on Benedictine University at Springfield. The Tigers beat the Bulldogs in the season opener earlier this year. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
