MPHS wrestlers fell to Ft. Madison 39-36 and defeated West Hancock, Ill. 63-10 in dual meets they hosted in Panther Gum last night. Winning matches for M.P.: Colton Mertens (2), Connor Eads, Tyler Lanphier, Blake Wickham, Rob Pohren, Michael Alders

on (2), Jayton Phillips, Noah Brown, Justin Dilks won 2 matches and is now 11-0 on the season, Colton Aplara won 2 matches and is also 11-0 on the season, Jacob Dilks (2), Emmett Wester (2).
M.P. goes to the Pella tournament Saturday.

The Mt. Pleasant Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team hosted Washington Thursday.

M.P. won 53-28, Jordon Magnani 24. Washington won the “B” game Kyle Vanderham had 8 Panther points. Washington won the “C” game also Keegan Rich scored 12 points.

The Mt. Pleasant High School girl’s basketball team travels to Ft. Madison tonight for Southeast Conference play. M.P. is 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference losing to Keokuk in Panther Gym last Friday night 47-44. Ft. Madison is 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the league, also losing to Keokuk but by a 56-16 margin. Taryne Shull is leading Mt. Pleasant in scoring with 12 points per game, Kelsi Phipps is averaging 11. Ft. Madison is led by Rachel Steffensmeier at 7 points per game with Caitlin Marshall scoring 6.
KILJ-FM will carry the varsity game live beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The boy’s teams of Mt. Pleasant High School and Ft. Madison will do battle in Panther Gym tonight. MP is 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Bloodhounds are 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league. The one common opponent the two teams have played is Keokuk. Panthers beat the Chiefs a week ago 74-57, F.M beat them 60-56. Faith Pope leads the Panther offense scoring 18 points a game. Ft. Madison is led by Miles Wentzien at 20 points a game and John Nagel adds 15 per outing.

The Iowa Wesleyan College women defeated Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo. Last night by a score of 71-60. Ashley Kruse led the Tigers with 23 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Tigers play at Greenville Illinois tonight.
The Wildcats defeated the Tiger men 93-73, Kyle Warner led IWC with 19 points.

Southeastern Community College men defeated Black Hawk East 101-33 last night, Nick Lyon scored 8 points. SCC ends the first part of the season with a 14-2 record.

Marian College of Indiana defeated Morningside College of Sioux City 30-27 in the NAIA National Championship game last night.
The NCAA division three Championship will be played in Salem, Virginia tonight when Mt. Union 14-0 will play St. Thomas of Minnesota 14-0.
The NCAA Division two playoff championship game tomorrow in Florence, Alabama. Valdosta St. 11-2 will play Winston-Salem 14-0.
