The Mt. Pleasant 8th grade girls basketball team played at Ottumwa Monday.

The Mt. Pleasant Middle School 7th grade boys hosted Ottumwa in basketball Monday. In the “A” game M.P. won 63-26, Jordon Magnani scored 15 and Brady Sartorius hit for 13. In the “B” game Mt. Pleasant won 30-19, Peyton Kelly scored 11. In the “C” game the Panthers completed the sweep with a 28-15 win, Keegan Rich scored 14.

The 1-2 Mt. Pleasant Panther boy’s basketball team is hosting the 1-2 Cedar Rapids Prairie Hawks tonight in Panther Gym. M.P. has dropped non-conference road games to Cedar Rapids Xavier and Pella, their lone win was a conference contest at home last Friday against Fairfield. Prairie has lost to Davenport West and North Scott. Their win was against Muscatine 74-48 in their last outing. Ryan Hanna leads MPHS in scoring with 10 points per game, Dalton Conrad averages 9.
You might remember C.R. Prairie was the only team to beat M.P. last season on their March to a championship.
KILJ FM will have the Varsity contest at 6pm, on 105.5FM.

Former Mt. Pleasant Panther player Scott Hahn did good this past weekend!
The Quincy University Hawks picked up their third win of the season Saturday (Dec. 1) afternoon by handing Lindenwood University an 81-74.
For the Hawks, Scott Hahn recorded a career night, reaching 21 points and going 6-for-7 in the field.
Southeastern Community College men defeated DMACC 79-70 last night, Nick Lyon scored 6 points.

Mediapolis senior quarterback Jesse Ertz has been named the Gatorade Iowa Player of the Year. Ertz is the 28th Iowan to win the honor. It’s based not only on athletic ability but academics and character.
Ertz is recovering from knee surgery he had on November 21st to repair ligament damage in his right knee, an injury that kept him from playing in the Class 2A championship game.

Valdosta State of Georgia will be playing in the NCAA D-II semi finals at Minnesota State University in Mankato Minnesota Saturday. One of the assistant coaches on the Valdosta St. team is Seth Wallace who prepped at Grinnell High School, played college ball at Coe College in Cedar Rapids and did grad assistant work at Iowa. Seth is married to Erica Severson who is from Mt. Pleasant and played sports for MPHS.
