Free Tax Prep Service Available

Monday, Wednesday and Fridays: income tax preparation and electronic filing will be provided at no cost.  The service will be available at the Fellowship Cup from 2 to 4 pm.  AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run counseling and prep service.  It is available for low or moderate income tax payers; especially those 60 and older.  Each tax counselor completes an IRS-developed training course and passes a test.  You do not need to be a member of AARP to use this service.  Taxpayers are helped on a first come, first serve basis.  You must bring this paperwork to your consultation a copy of last year’s income tax returns, Social Security cards for yourself and all dependents, unemployment compensation states, W-2 forms for each employers and 1099-R forms from pensions and annuities or an SSA-109 form showing Social Security benefits and all 1099 forms that show interest, dividends, sale of assets and miscellaneous income.  Any questions call 385-4983.
