Henry County Needs More Reserve Deputies

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office currently has four reserve deputies.  Eleven more are needed to bring the unit up to full staff.  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an informational meeting for people interested in becoming a Henry County Reserve Deputy.  For consideration, applicants must be Henry County residents between 21 and 65, possess a valid Iowa driver’s license, pass a background investigation and fingerprint search.  They also must have a high school diploma or GED.  Also, vision must be corrected to 20/20, hearing to normal standards and meet physical requirements. 

After being selected, candidates will receive training and must pass a written examination and qualify with firearms.  These must be completed within 18 months of appointment.  The informational meeting to learn more will be held on Tuesday, Feburary 12th at 7 pm in the Henry County Emergency Management Building at 900 West Washington Street in Mt. Pleasant.  More information will be available at the meeting and applications will be available.
