Mt. Union Sued By RUSS

The city of Mt. Union is being sued by Regional Utility Service Systems for past-due monthly fees.  Mayor John Marek received official notice of the suit.  RUSS alleges that under a 28E Agreement that the two entered in 2008, it was their duty to operate and maintain the sanitary sewer system.  They claim that they have complied with the terms of the agreement and despite repeated attempts the city has not paid their balance which makes them in default of their agreement.  RUSS also asks for the city to reimburse them for expenses including attorney fees and other related costs.  They also claim that they have requested arbitration with no movement on that.  There are 62 users in Mt. Union and 17 of those are not paying their sewer fees.  The city of Mt. Union now has 20 days to respond.
