Parents: You Matter Program Tonight

Written by on January 29, 2013 in News

A free program will be held tonight.  Parents: You Matter will focus on drugs, alcohol, your teen and you.  Presented by Henry County Mentoring and the Henry County Substance Abuse Coalition, this community education program will provide parents and other adults insight on why kids use drugs, how to start a dialogue about the dangers and what to do if they suspect a child is using.  Parents need to educate themselves and should be a go-to source if their children have questions.

The program will be held in the Fellowship Cup Community Room from 5:30 to 7 this evening.  Presenting will be Prevention Specialist Jennifer Lehman of ISU Extension and Lieutenant Lyle Murray of the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.  Snacks and childcare will be available.  This would also be excellent for criminal justice, education or psych majors or anyone interested working with youth.  An RSVP is requested.  You can do so by calling 385-8126.
