The RAGBRAI 2013 route has been announced and its spending a lot of time in southeast Iowa. The annual seven day bike ride across the state is in its 41st year and is the oldest, largest and longest recreational bicycle touring event in the world. It will run July 21st through the 27th covering 406.6 miles, the 2nd shortest in its history. The final overnight stop will be in Fairfield which last hosted RAGBRAI in 2003 before ending in Fort Madison. Thousands of cyclists and their support team and fans will be in southeast Iowa. Though RAGBRAI will not officially go through Mt. Pleasant, the hope is some of those attending will take advantage of the food and services offered in Henry County on their way through the route.
