MPHS wrestlers hosted Fairfield last night and beat the Trojans 50-21, here are the match winners: 195: Justin Dilks, 285: Emmett Wester, 106: Colton Mertens, 113: Conner Eads, 120: Tyler Lanphier,126: Alex Lanphier, . 132: Blake Wickham 152: Michael Alderson, 160: Jayton Phillips.
OTHER AREA WRESTLING RESULTS: Coach Dan Cummings of Mediapolis coached his 400th career dual meet victory when the Bulldogs beat Cardinal 79-0 and West Burlington/Notre Dame/Danville 81-0. Cummings is 5th on the total win list in Iowa with 400 wins, 155 losses and 3 ties. Coach Kent Kersten of Logan Magnolia with 522 wins-97 losses and 4 ties tops the list.
New London/WMU 45 LoneTree 24, New London/WMU 37 L&M 36, Burlington Beat Muscatine 45-24, Ft. Madison captured their 4th straight Southeast conference crown with a 52-9 win over Keokuk, Highland 42 Waco 18.

MPHS bowlers were at Ottumwa last night, the Panther girls suffered their first loss of the season to the defending class 2A state champion Ottumwa Bulldogs 2875-2591, Tasha Glover was high roller for M.P. with a 345.
The Ottumwa boys beat M.P. 3240-2826, Dustin Higginbotham rolled a 413 to lead the Panthers.

The MPHS girl’s basketball team will head to Keokuk to do battle tonight with the Lady Chiefs in Southeast Conference action. In the first meeting of the season between the two teams, Mt. Pleasant let a late game lead slip away and lost by 3 points. Keokuk may be a little tired and a little mad tonight as they played conference foe Fairfield last night and were beaten 44-41. KILJ-FM and kilj.com will broadcast the varsity game live beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has announced their latest team rankings. Class 5A is topped by Ankeny. Sioux City Heelan Catholic is #1 in class 4A, Oskaloosa who Mt. Pleasant travels to play tomorrow is ranked 13th and Washington 14th. Class 3A is headed by Davenport Assumption, Mediapolis is ranked 9th and Central Lee 10th. Class 2A Western Christian is #1. Class 1A Bedford is #1 and Burlington Notre Dame is #2.

The MPHS boys host Keokuk tonight and with a win would clinch at least a tie for another conference championship. Keokuk has two loses as does Ft. Madison, M.P. is unbeaten at 5-0. Keokuk was rolled over by #1 ranked 4A defending state champion Iowa City West Tuesday night, while Mt. Pleasant was rolling over Muscatine71-44. Earlier this season MPHS beat the Chiefs 74-57. Tomorrow the MPHS girls and boys play at Oskaloosa with the girl’s game beginning at 1:30 p.m. KILJ will not be broadcasting the games.
