Four Arrested Following Execution of Two Different Search Warrants

Thursday Mt. Pleasant police executed a search warrant at the Michael Bonser residence, 122 N. Jefferson Street. The search was the result of a lengthy drug investigation by police. Bonser was arrested and charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana and Shane Decock of Mt. Pleasant was charged with one count of delivery.

Mt. Pleasant police continue to investigate another drug case. Earlier today two people were arrested when officers executed a search warrant 615 North Carol Avenue. During the search police located Aaron Alvarez. Alvarez is wanted on a felony arrest warrant for dangerous drugs. He is also on the sex offender register list and was not supposed to be at the home. Three children and another juvenile were also at the residence. Alavarez fought with officers before being tased and finally restrained. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Also arrested on the warrant was Jeremy Reid. More arrests are expected.

The state patrol has released the details of an accident that occurred Monday involving a semi and a drivers education vehicle. At about 5 pm troopers were called to the intersection of Hwy 218 and River Road south of Mt. Pleasant. The drivers ed car was facing east in the median, waiting to turn onto 218 and head north. At the same time a northbound semi pulling a trailer attempted to pass another vehicle headed north. As the semi made the pass, the student driver pulled out onto the highway. The passenger side and side mirror of the student car struck the semi trailer. The drivers side of the semi’s tailer tires ran over the front passenger side of the drivers ed car. No one was hurt and no charges were filed.
