The construction project at the Henry County Health Center continues to move along on schedule and on budget. The HCHC Board got an update on the project at their meeting held Tuesday. The good news is the surgical center will be enclosed by the time the inclement weather arrives thursday, this will enable the project to progress regardless of the weather.
A public hearing was held to hear any comments on the Health Centers tax budget. The board approved the tax budget and for the 6th year in a row the levy rate will remian the same. Under old business the board. heard information on Physcian and provider recruitment and strategic plan review.
An investment policy was approved by the board to help them get the best return with the least risk. They also voted to retain the services of their present audit service and to retire a 2002 bond to reduce interest debt and save over $100,000.
A report was given by Bill Grimm on an annual survey of Park Place, six concerns were discovered during the inspection but all were minor and corrected immediately. The dietary and house keeping services were complimented for oustanding ratings they received.
Changes were approved for the medical staff rules and regulations to bring them up to present day needs.
A hospitalist transition plan was approved, with the first phase stressing cooperation from Family Medicine who has already been very active in the process.
The month of January was a busy one for the hospital with it being the first positive operating January since 2007.
