MT. PLEASANT – Members of the Two Rivers Bank & Trust and HCHC Foundation assembled at the branch office in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, February 13, to celebrate Two Rivers’ contribution to HCHC Foundation’s Close to Home Campaign in response to Hearth & Home Technologies $200,000 challenge gift.
“Two Rivers Bank & Trust has always been a supporter of our local communities,” explained Dave George, Two Rivers Market President. “We recognize that part of a successful community is a strong, well-run, high quality health center. The Henry County Health Center expansion plan will allow them to continue to provide our citizens with access to the latest in medical technology and compassionate care. We are proud to support their efforts and to contribute to the challenge grant.”
Two Rivers Bank and Trust presented a $5,000 check to be included in the “matching” gift. Market President Dave George went on to say that he is hopeful that many other area businesses rise up to the matching challenge. “I believe that businesses throughout our county understand and recognize the positive impact HCHC has on the local economy. HCHC plays an important role in attracting new business, industry and residents to our area. We’re happy to pledge our support.”
Michelle Rosell, HCHC Foundation Director, explained that the major focus of the Close to Home Campaign is to raise the necessary funds through philanthropic giving to support new construction and renovation of many of HCHC’s most frequently used services; to improve efficiencies, update technology and ensure future access to quality care.
Renovations to the hospital will include construction of a new surgery department with private pre/post-operative recovery rooms, two new operating rooms and endoscopy suite, and a separate surgery waiting room. Additional changes will include an improved patient registration area,
remodeled outpatient services area, a new laboratory with private lab draw stations, update to
outpatient cardiopulmonary services, additional specialty clinic exam rooms for visiting specialists, a new Women’s Center and exterior canopy in Radiology, and a new Health Education Center for classes and training.
To date, over $1.5 million has been committed to the Close to Home Campaign. The
organization needs to raise a minimum of $2 million for these renovations. For more information about the campaign, please visit http://www.hchc.org or call the HCHC Foundation office directly at 319/385-6541.
In closing, Rosell added, “All of us at HCHC Foundation are grateful to Two Rivers Bank for this generous gift to our campaign. Two Rivers has been a loyal supporter of our various community initiatives. We hope this gift will inspire others in the community to consider giving to this important cause.”
